The long-time music and media playback software Winamp now allows you to access your music files from your PC and stream them to play on your Wii. Here are the steps to get you going, assumed you don’t have Winamp installed in your PC.

Step 1: Go to AOL Beta Central to download Winamp 5.5 Beta.

Step 2: Go to Winamp Remote to install the Winamp Remote application and sign up for a new account.

Step 3: Install both Winamp 5.5 Beta and Winamp Remote, Winamp will automagically detect your audio files in your PC.

Step 4: On your Wii, hit the Internet browser and go to http://winamp.com/remote to sign in.

Step 5: You have to leave your PC and Winamp Remote on so that your Wii can detect the audio files.

Step 6: You can play your music files on the Wii but it takes some time for Wii to stream from one file to the next. Enjoy!
