No Early Mario Kart Wii for Some Americans

We all know that people find all sorts of amazing ways of bypassing the usual rules set forth by the Powers That Be. This is especially true in the gaming world where we’re faced with such pesky things as “release dates”. We’re impatient people. We like faster and we like better and we want it all now.
A lot of gamers turned to Datel’s Freeloader as an answer to all of this nuisance, but unfortunately, it’s been found incompatible with Mario Kart Wii. Nintendo has finally put a stop to all the underground fun, forcing import stores, such as play-Asia, to send out emails such as the following:
This is an important e-mail update regarding your pending preorder Mario Kart Wii (w/ Wii Handle) (Nintendo™ Wii Japan, NTSC J)
We received the first small delivery today for testing and unfortunately we have to inform you, that the game is not compatible with the Datel Freeloader (US and PAL Version).
Now with any situation, there’s several camps of thought. There’s the group on one side going, “Jeez, you losers can’t even wait for a game? GET A LIFE.” And there’s the other side going, “This is lame! Let me play the game already!” I’m of the latter camp, mainly because I think the whole region locking stuff is stupid.
But there you go. No Mario Kart Wii for you! Well, until April 26th. And for those truly impatient, you can at least try to get it a few hours before everyone else.
