Nintendo Release Wii Wi-Fi Router
Japanese Wii owners can now head out and purchase the newly released Nintendo Wi-Fi Network Adapter, the latest gadget by Nintendo intended to help player’s Internet connectivity.
The new router is a wireless 802.11g/b router with a single LAN port and has gone on sale for 5,800 yen (roughly US$55). Just as with standard Buffalo branded routers, this Network Adapter from Nintendo comes with an AOSS button that easily allows consumers to synchronise their Wii or DS systems to it with the greatest of ease, removing the awkward process of having to type in a long security key.
Alas, the Wi-Fi adapter doesn’t look to be heading out of Japan any time soon. Specifically, Nintendo stated that there were no plans to release it in Europe. So if you want one outside of Japan, importing it may be your only option.
