Karaoke Joysound for the Wii

by Ingrid on March 29th, 2008

ImageI posted the sad news the other day regarding the lack of DLC for Rock Band. The lack of downloadable songs stretches also to Guitar Hero, but if you’re starting to lose hope, there’s a bright light at the end of the tunnel for those of you who like these sorts of games: Karaoke Joysound.

The game offers an alternative to games such as Sony’s SingStar and the best part is this: it will feature DLC. The WiiWare title will launch with over 20,000 songs available for download, with 1,000 songs added every month.

It’s unknown yet how the songs will be made available, but there’s talk of a monthly fee that offers unlimited downloads for a set price. The game will be released both as a WiiWare bundle (with USB mic), and as a download (with mic sold separately).

Unfortunately, the awesomeness of this will only be available to Japanese Wii owners, but I hope they spread the joy(sound) to other parts of the world. It’s a pretty kick-ass idea.
