Japanese swimmer Kosuke Kitajima won the gold in Beijing this year for the 100m breast stroke event, and thanks his Wii for helping to get him where he is. Part of his Olympic training apparently included some Wii gaming.

ElectronicArts has recently announced their latest Wii-intended title: Celebrity Sports Showdown.
Executive Producer, Dave McCarthy had the following to say with regards to the game:

While the sequel to the action-adventure game “Overlord” will be heading to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year, Wii owners have something to look forward to in the meantime. Subsonic has something for Star Wars Jedi swordmasters…The Subsonic Laser Sword can house your Wii Remote and you are ready to join the dark side. Of course this is more professional looking than having a flashlight to stick onto your white thingy.
